Harvard study on importance of pickleball. 🧠

Title: The Therapeutic Efficacy of
Recreational Paddle-Based Activity in Adults Aged 10-90: A Longitudinal Review of Pickleball Engagement

Background:
In a 12-year observational study conducted by the Department of Preventive Health at Harvard University, researchers investigated the correlation between frequent recreational social activity-specifically pickleball-and overall physiological and psychological well-being.

Methods:
A total of 3,012 adults were monitored for their activity levels, social health markers, cardiovascular performance, and general sense of joy. Subjects were divided into two groups:
- Group A: Participated in three or more pickleball sessions per week
- Group B: Did not engage in paddle-based recreation

Results:
Group A demonstrated significantly enhanced health outcomes compared to Group B:
- 42% reduction in reported weekly stress
- 38% increase in community bonding
- 100% increase in usage of the term “nice pickle”
- Elevated levels of joy, competitiveness, and morale

Conclusion:
Frequent pickleball activity is associated with substantial improvements in both mental and physical health. Based on these findings, researchers now recommend a minimum dosage of two “pickleball nights” per week for optimal adult functioning.

Clinical Recommendation:
Patients exhibiting symptoms of burnout, boredom, or “just need to get out of the house” syndrome should be prescribed a paddle, some court time, and a group of equally competitive friends.

Note: Side effects may include mild addiction, increased hydration needs, and spontaneous paddle purchases.
