Breathe Before You Serve: Olivia Sage on the Pickleball Reset #breathwork #pickleballcommunity

Olivia Sage is a relationship coach, a certified yoga teacher and a transformational breathwork facilitator who leads classes and retreats across South Florida and around the world. On this episode she sits down with host Mark Cerezin to talk about what breathwork is, why the deeper sessions need a trained guide, and what one good breath can do for your day.

The conversation keeps coming back to the court. Olivia and Mark walk through a simple reset for the service line: step up, take a breath, look at the court and start the point with intention. They talk about the pickleball accountability pledge and its first line, “the point is never more important than the person,” and about why your rating number shouldn’t be how you introduce yourself. They also talk about what to do when the first group you meet isn’t friendly, because there are good people out there. Olivia shares a story from Costa Rica, where she and her son ended up playing with a stranger who taught them without a shared language.

Olivia is clear that deeper breathwork should be guided by a trained, trauma-informed professional. This episode is for general information and isn’t medical advice.

The Pickleball Talks is also coming to TV in early December. Until next time, keep the ball in the air, the competition friendly, and the fun in the game.
