I recap PPA Asia’s Hong Kong event by breaking down the men’s doubles final and what’s behind Ben Johns’ four straight losses, including my stats on kitchen speed-ups and soft-game errors and why I think he needs to be more aggressive. I also power-rank the women’s singles field after Andie Dikosavljevic's back-to-back golds, discuss Anna Leigh Waters skipping singles on rollout courts, and cover men’s singles upsets and Hunter Johnson’s third gold in four tournaments. I talk about international vs. American progress in doubles, how PPA Asia is scaling through local partners, and highlight key results in women’s, mixed, and men’s doubles, including Asia’s first Slam. I also cover Christian Alshon’s unexplained withdrawal, read comments of the week about screaming/taunting, and debate the best mustaches in pickleball.
